The main objective of this platform is to provide a user-friendly collection of songs with searchable database, filled with lyrics that follow with the original North Star Community Centre A/G (Malaysia)' EasiSlides database.
Due to some limitations of the EasiSlides (also known as - EasySlides) software and with its creator of EasiSlides is somewhat not active anymore, and I have personally tried to engaged with the creator for sourcing out the code so that I can help to make some improvements to the software in order to make it more future proof. Unfortunately, there is no response.
Ultimately, the whole idea of this platform is to help out and maintain the original database for our own community and hopefully to the friendly neighbourshood out there who are requesting for our songs. In the near future, this platform will soon to cover some new features, for example it can print / export into PDF format and also includes some features that can help to export the lyrics to support other open-sourced software such as OpenLP, FreeShow or any other similar software as well.
Of course, being a creator myself I am quite aware that there are more well-developed database out there such as Worship Leader to handle such cases. However, at the moment it does not fit the current practices and the ways of how the community has been using it so far especially in presenting the lyrics, we are more focusing on multi-region Chinese and pinyin (sometimes are English lyrics) altogether in 1st-2nd sentence respectively. Hence you will see why the lyrics are currently separated into 2 different regions.
Last but not least, this platform is not intended to be open-sourced yet. It is still under development and it will not likely to be open in the near future. However, I am open to suggestions and ideas to make it better.
